Night Night!

Our luck never seems to end with our sweet little midget! She seems to get easier every day... At bed time Mia takes a tubby with either Mommy or Daddy. Then she brushes her teeth while we read her a few books, then a little rocking and soft singing before tucking in the angel. Here is Momma preparing for the final phase of the evening... Moments prior to this picture being taken, Mia had made a big bed on her bedroom floor for her bears, complete with pillows and blankets. We watched quietly as she tucked them all in one by one, and said goodnight. Oh, and she had put fresh diapers on them all prior to putting them to bed! Too sweet...

Favorite Sitter!

Mia's favorite sitter is Carmel, Skip's daughter from across the street. It's so sweet how they have bonded and play together. When Carmel shows up Mia does a little happy dance and then screams "CARMEL"! She is very artistic and has a beautiful singing voice, so Mia gets a chance to draw, as well as hear what singing should sound like, as opposed to Mommy & Daddy's pathetic attempts... We're very lucky to have someone who Mia is so attached to. Here they are saying goodbye to Mommy & Daddy last Saturday night!

Beauty!

No text needed. Her beauty says it all...

Nice Hat!!

The Midget has decided that her bongo is better suited to being a hat than an instrument! It appears we've confirmed that the traditional Lovell craziness is more environmental than genetic... That's ok, we love our crazy midget!

Zoo Tour!

Mommy arranged a private tour at the zoo this weekend! Early on Saturday morning, before the zoo opened, we got to ride a golf cart around and see all the animals. It was great because the animals were very active at that time of day. The highlight was getting to go behind the scenes into the giraffe building. Here you can see Mia feeding one of the giraffes a biscuit! Her giggles and shrills were so cute as the giraffe's tongue wrapped around her hand and ate the treat!! Doug & Heather brought Zoe & Lilly along as well. Doug actually let the giraffes eat treats out of his mouth... Yikes! What an incredible experience the whole tour was. Nice work Mommy!

Reilly Visit!

Doug & Heather brought Zoe & Lilly to Arizona for vacation this weekend. Mia absolutely loves them and couldn't wait for their arrival. On Saturday we all went in the hot tub while the Mommy's hit the spa for Valentine's Day. Then Mia had a sleep over! On Sunday we took Mia hiking for the first time and were amazed at how well she did. She actually hiked about a third of the way up Camelback Mountain! She wouldn't let us help her as she kept insisting "I'll do it!". Eventually we all turned back, while Heather & Zoe went on to the top! Mia had so much fun this weekend...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mia had a Valentine's party at Kindermusic on Friday. They ate cookies and danced and played! Of course our midget wore pink every day for the past week, and made Daddy the sweetest card at school. It's pretty amazing that we're celebrating our second Valentine's Day with her already... She is in the best phase right now. Big hugs and loads of love for Mommy & Daddy!!

New Band!

Mia has formed her first band. The repertoire is a bit limited, focusing mostly on E-I-E-I-O, but what we lack in musical ability we make up for with enthusiasm!! She really is so musical and constantly playing her guitar, harmonica or bongo. We finally have a Lovell with some musical talent!

She Rides!

One of Mia's birthday presents was a scooter, with full safety gear! She was so thrilled to get suited up and go for her first ride... A little tentative, but absolutely committed! Could she be any cuter?!?!

The Cake!

Well, here it is... Mia's wedding, I mean, birthday cake! Mommy sure outdid herself this time. I'm pretty sure we had all possible cake flavors covered. If that didn't do it for you, maybe the face painters, balloon artists, story book readers, bounceys or slides would suffice. Mommy sure does enjoy going over the top for our prized midget! Truth be told, even though I may complain, I think it's great! She's the most amazing child on the planet and totally worth it. Nobody is more deserving of a fairy tale party than Mia!

Barney Party!

Yes, that's right, Mia had her very own Barney for her 2nd birthday! I've got to tell you, I'm not sure a BMW given to a 16 year old would have had a bigger impact... She was so overwhelmed with joy that she first hugged him, and then led him around by the hand to meet her friends, and of course made Barney watch her while she jumped in the bouncey!! Seeing her joy is about the best thing in the world... Even though he was a bit of a crackhead Barney! Note that he's holding his head on as they wander. Nothing but the best for our kid. Heee heee

The Leprechaun Visit!

Our little leprechaun friend, Steve Bosse, paid Mia a visit from St. Louis! She absolutely loved him and they had tons of fun playing over her birthday weekend. She's still walking around the house finding little pieces of gold and wondering where her little red friend went!!

Midget Momma!

Mia has now entered the mothering phase... She has long been obsessed with her three little bears: Mary Bear, Little Bear & Baby Bear. However, she now mimics Momma each morning and puts a clean diaper on them, props them up at the table, and fixes them breakfast. Not sure they are so healthy, as they get ice cream for breakfast every morning, but they are clearly loved!! As is she...

Cousins Visit!

Mia was lucky enough to have her Aunt Caren visit from San Diego with her cousins Gavin & Hadley. Not only were they helpful with the party, but Mia had an absolute blast playing with them. I'm sure you can't tell from this picture of the midgets all hanging on the hammock!! Mia loves her cousins...

Birthday Princess!

Mia had quite the birthday shindig at the Club on Saturday! Not only were there bouncies, balloon artists, face painters and story book readers, but most importantly there was Barney!! It was so sweet to see how excited she was when real life Barney showed up... She wasn't quite sure what to make of it at first, but after a few hugs and some dancing, she was certain he was real. She even led him around by his hand to go out to the bouncy so he could watch her slide and play! Mommy did an amazing job putting together the party and everyone appeared to have a blast... Happy Birthday Mia, we love you!!
