Big Sister Mia!!

It's official, Mia is going to be a big sister! Much to our surprise, she's going to have two siblings, because we're having twins!! Today was our third ultra sound and marks Mommy's ninth week of pregnancy. It's still early, but the doctor says we've made it through the most dangerous part, and now our chances of delivering healthy babies are at 94%. So we've decided to share our joy with the world! I'm not sure Mia really gets it at this point. We bought her a 'Big Sister' t-shirt that she is very proud of, and shows off regularly. When Daddy first told her she was going to be a big sister, she shrugged and asked if we could go jump on the bed... We couldn't be more excited, and are thrilled for Mia to have siblings for playmates!

Drummer Girl!

Mia's musical talents continue to grow, and her latest obsession is playing the drums! So the other night she made two drum sets for her and Daddy to play. She lined up different size boxes on two chairs and then invited Daddy for a drum session! Her creativity has simply exploded in the past few months... It's so fun to see the new games she creates each day!

Ball Game!

For some reason Mia has been asking to go to a baseball game for the past few weeks... So Daddy got some tickets and we took Nick with us to see the Diamondbacks play the San Diego Padres on Saturday night! It was a lot of fun, especially since our team won. Mia kept stealing Nick's hat until Daddy bought her one, and then she simply stole his glove for the rest of the game! We had great fun...

Big Bowler!

Mia's new thing is bowling! She always wants to go... So on Sunday Daddy took Mia, Nick (or as Mia calls him, Nicky!) and Madi for some dinner and disco bowling! The three of them had an absolute blast and Mia actually bowled a decent game. She's very lucky to have such sweet older kids around to help her out. They all play so well together!

Daddy's Little Helper!

This past weekend Daddy was doing some work around the house, and found a very helpful little midget! Good thing Mommy wasn't around to see Mia climbing the ladder as if she was going to change a light bulb or something... The kid is not only courageous, but absolutely fearless!

A Limo?!

Mia got to experience a limo for the first time on Sunday night! Momma and some girl friends went to see 'Pink' in concert, and treated themselves to a little luxury... At first she was a little confused seeing such a long car, but quickly decided it was fun to play in!

Limo Play Time!

And play she did... I'm pretty sure we've got a movie star in the making, cause she looked all too natural in the back of that big car! Gotta love the pig tails...

Gotcha Day Celebration!

In the realm of Chinese adoption, 'Gotcha Day' is a big thing. Gotcha Day is the day that you finally hold your new child for the first time, after a very long wait... We held Mia in our arms for the first time on September 17th, 2007. Can you believe it's been 2 years already?! We can't... Time flies so fast. To celebrate our 2nd anniversary together we went out to dinner at 'The Great Wall', a fabulous Chinese restaurant in town. As usual, Mia was the center of attention. During dinner Mia noticed that their was a dance floor, and insisted that Daddy dance with her. She showed off her twirls... She's the best, and we're very lucky to be able to share our lives with her!

Big Lover!

After getting Mia out of the car to head into dinner for our Gotcha Day celebration, Mia spontaneously wrapped her arms around Daddy and gave a very long, and very loving, hug! These are the moments that make life worth living!!

"We Had Great Fun Today!"

Always the entertainer! Mia does the most amazingly cute things... Each night at bed time Mia takes a tubby with Daddy, then Mommy reads a few books and they lay down together. Lately, as Mommy is singing our angel to sleep, she has started this new thing where she interupts the song and blurts out, "We had great fun today Momma!" It is amazingly sweet and perfectly matches her loving character. We love our angel!

Wanna Play With Me?!

This is the view that awaits Daddy every evening when he gets home from work! Not two steps in the door is this adorable little face, holding out her hand and asking, "Wanna play with me?". How could anyone resist? Absolutely adorable...

Hmmmmm, what could it be?!

Mia sure was curious to know what is going on with Mommy's belly! Hmmmm, what could it be?!

Ice Cream Buddies!

For Labor Day we hung out at the pool at our Club with some close friends. Russell & Christine brought Sascha to hang out with Mia. Here are the midgets sharing some ice cream in the heat! It's amazing that Sascha is almost 5 years old now, when we met her she was just a baby and we were dreaming of bringing home our Mia some day... Now, here they are having fun in the sun! We are truly lucky.

Scuba Reader!

Yep, those would be scuba goggles on Mia's head... Every now and again she enjoys a little intellectual alone time with a good book and her favorite chair! How the goggles fit into this scenario I have no idea. Simply put, the girl makes some strange choices, but we love her just the same! She certainly isn't lacking in creativity...

Mia's speech skills are impressive! On Sunday night we took Mia, and Cousin Nick, to a Japanese hibachi restaurant for the first time. She was amazed at the chef and his antics. When we were done he asked how old she was. When we told him she was 2, he was amazed and said that his daughter who is almost 4 couldn't speak so clearly. I realize every child develops at their own rate, so by no means am I saying Mia is some kind of genius. That being said, I will say the kids a freaking genius!! How could she not be with a Daddy like hers... :)

Got Bubbles?!

Daddy got a little crazy with the bubble bath on Sunday night! What else could we do but make hats & beards?!?! I'm pretty sure Mia hasn't bathed alone in about year. Every day is a party in her world!

Creativity!

Madi came over the other day and taught Mia what markers are really for... After completely covering their faces in various colors, they proceeded to run around the house like a couple of freaks! This picture doesn't even begin to show you how crazy they got with the markers! I'm guessing the whole drawing on the walls thing should be coming any day now... Ugggghh!

Big Swimmer!

Wow, how times change... Just a few months ago Mia was crying and fighting us at group swim lessons. Now she's graduated to advanced private lessons and is absolutely amazing in the water! Her teacher, Simon, is her new best friend. It's so cute to see them working together in the pool. This week Mia earned a ribbon for floating on her back with no assistance... We're very proud of our little porpoise!!
