Mommy bought some cups for a playdate she's hosting this week. Mia decided they were toys and immediately began lining them up! The fun part was when we got to know them down like dominos... The picture was just too cute not to share! On a side note, Mia went to her first movie today!! We took a risk and went to see 'Up', the new Disney movie. Amazingly, she made it through the whole movie! There was a bit of dancing in the aisle, and a whole lot of popcorn eating, but she made it. It's so great to experience all the 'firsts'!

Harley Girl!!
When Mommy & Mia came home on Saturday afternoon, Daddy was outside working on his Harley. Mia immediately had to get her bike out and ride around showing off! It's so cute how she is so interested in working with Daddy in the garage, and mimics everything we do... Nothing makes Daddy more proud than watching the midget grab a tool and pretend to be working on her bike! She looks pretty cool, huh?!

Amazing Changes!
The whole parenting thing is such an amazing roller coaster! Just when you think you've got things under control, here comes a new phase... The last few weeks have been a challenge with Mia's sleeping. Strange, since she was such a great sleeper ever since we brought her home. All of the sudden she is waking up every night at 3 or 4 am and crying until we bring her into our bed. Yep, that's right, we're developing wonderfully healthy habits! It's funny, you hear stories of other parent's experiences and you think that somehow you're experience will be different. I'm hear to tell you, human beings are human beings... The consistency from child to child is amazing. So many different personalities, yet such similar phases! In a strange way these challenges are good in that it bonds us even closer. Nothing like consoling a crying child when you've had no sleep to realize the depth of your love. By the way, when I refer to consoling a crying child in the middle of the night, mostly I'm referring to Mommy! Daddy wasn't designed for lack of sleep... heee heee

Graduation Day!
Mia finished her first school year this past week! Mommy & Daddy attended the last day of school party and had yummy treats while the kids sang songs. It was so sweet to see Mia playing with her friends and socializing in her own environment! Her teachers, Este & Dvora, were absolutely wonderful. No big surprise that when they sent out a letter to all the parents thanking them for a wonderful year, they singled out one parent in particular. Guess who?! Yep, Mia's Mommy got special mention for being the Library Mom & Helper... Daddy even missed work to spend time with his girls! Time well spent...

Little Surfer Girl!
For Mother's Day we took a family trip to Languna Beach! It was so nice to relax with just the three of us and visit the beach, swim and take afternoon naps together. We drove up to Huntington Beach one afternoon and Mia loved all of the people and chaos... We had a wonderful Mother's Day Brunch and came home refreshed and relaxed. Thankfully Mia's descent into tantrums and fits the past few weeks has subsided. Maybe not so much subsided as Mommy & Daddy are learning how to deal with this new found independence and obstinance! Either way, we had a great time and loved every minute with our midget...

Lunatic...
It's official, the lunacy has set in... While this picture may appear to be of a happy go lucky child, the reality is that our midget has gone insane in the past few weeks! Wow, I had no idea that a little creature could cop such an immense attitude! What was once all fun and games is suddenly a constant power struggle. Yep, it's her way or a tantrum... We're figuring our way through this maze, thanks to quite a bit of advice from those who have gone before us. If you think I'm exaggerating, just listen to this little story: On Sunday night Mia wouldn't let Mommy put a diaper on her after a bath. She would turn her body into a noodle, and then go stiff as a board. When Mommy finally gave up in frustration, Daddy decided he would fix things! Yeah, right... The end result was that Mia got herself so worked up screaming and hypraventilating that she actually threw up on Daddy! Yep, loads of fun... Thank god we love her as much as we do!! Anyone with advice, please feel free to share with a couple of inexperienced parents!

First Boating Adventure!
Mia experienced her first boating adventure today! Bob Novak, aka Cheeks, recently moved to Phoenix and invited us out for a day of boating on Lake Pleasant. Mia had an absolute blast, except for the part where we hit really big waves while going really fast... That part definitely wasn't her favorite, but she was a great sport about it! Her favorite part of the day was definitely getting to hang with Cheeks' dog Maximus. The two were inseperable! She sure does love animals... It's always a fun day with the Midget!!
Date Night!
Last week Mommy & Daddy took Mia to see Elmo Sesame Street Live! First we had a quiet family dinner at the Club. Here I am with the Midget... She's at such a sweet age with the hugs and poses! Mia enjoyed the show, but got a little tired after intermission. So we took her, and her new Elmo binoculars, home to bed early.
